What's your latest photo gear purchase?

I finally got the Leica M8 I have been lusting after for the last 4 years. Now that I got it I am "pretty much done" as coined above. There is still room for a Voigtlander 15mm somewhere in my kit, maybe I will have the wife buy me that for my birthday.

Waiting for a Nokton 1.1 (Mr Gandy , please come Home early from your vacation...:D )
to put on my newly acquired and totally smitten with M5

and YES I am DONE.... !!!!!

Wow!! Can't wait to see what comes of this! I know it will be delicious!:)

I got an M6 Classic, the "Panda" version. And, of course 400 ft of Plus-X goodness. But, after shooting with the Ektar 100, I am lusting after this film.

CV 21/4 LTM and LH-1 lens hood and Sekonic L-208 meter, the first two in hand and the third on its way.

The 21 has been on one of the two Bessa Rs that I've toted around the Oshkosh airshow for the past couple of days (90 Lanthar on the other body). I've really enjoyed the light weight compared to carrying a couple of SLRs. And several passing DSLR shooters have done double takes, not quite sure what to make of my gear. Kind of fun to see! My own DSLR got its workout earlier in the trip.

I've been missing the days when my everyday bag had a film body, a digital body and 3 lenses that could be mounted on either body. So, to fix that, I pulled the trigger on a Nex5 and an M-NEX adapter.

Now, my bag feels complete again, with a ZI and NEX5, along with a ZM 21/2.8, CV 35/1.2 and ZM Sonnar 50/1.5.

Nikon 50mm/f1.4 in F mount. My first non-consumable photographic purchase in some time. But it was so clean and nice - and nicely priced - that I couldn't pass it up. The ideal "default" lens for my FM2n. I've been wanting one for some time but hadn't found one in the right condition at the right price 'till now.

Rolleicord coming next week from Mr. Wilson. ;)

28mm and 35mm are my latest attempt to defeat my wide angle phobia. 28mm just came from Japan, and I got the 35mm for "free" by pure luck a couple days back. (no I didn't rob anyone)

Ricoh GR-1s.

After trolling the 'net for a long time, I finally get to hold this fabled P&S.

For the price I paid, I was expecting LCD full of bleeds and sand pouring from the back.

But none of that, I almost finish the test roll. We'll see.

Three things I didn't know before:

1. you can actually stuff a film roll in it. It looks impossibly thin (and sleek) from the outside.

2. that tiny lens has individually graded and measured glass elements... seven of them total, two aspherical (I have no idea what this will do to my photos, but it sure sounds impressive :) )

3. how much fun it is to use.

Also in the midst of a gear-swap.

Nikon DSLR/SLR: changing a 18-200mm AFS DX for a 18-35 and 70-300 AFS. Now my lens will work on my f100, as well as my digital kit.

Rangefinder: Out (Nokton 50mm f1.5); in Nokton 40mm f1.4 (thanks back alley!). Perfect fit for a Bessa R3A, and a killer street shooter kit. Also picked up a Summicron DR 50mm. Low contrast, razor sharp in the centre, beautiful bokeh. Exactly what I was looking for. Just have to figure out what to sell now to balance the books.

M4-P and a CV Ultron 28/2, to keep the R3m company (CV 40/1.4 & 75/2.5).

I needed something light enough to haul around while I recover from reconstructive surgery. Hey, my wife thought it was a good idea.

i want your paycheck...:p

I want a bigger paycheck! :D I work for a newspaper. It's probably the last one making a profit. But trust me, I don't earn much. But a camera is essential. I also purchased a cellular modem this week as well. Which is as essential to the job as a camera.

I dropped my M9 on assignment. I was photographing a fire and the firefighters pointed the hose in my direction and I was about to get doused. So I put my M9 in my Domke F6 and ran out of the way. As I was running my M9 fell out of my bag. Apparently it got caught up on the side and didn't go in all the way. I learned the hard way.

I was using the M8 for a bit as I kept it as a backup. But it wasn't doing the job. So I emptied my savings and bought a Canon 5D Mk II and the three lens prime kit. Which is, albeit hard for me to admit, working wonderfully. I managed to sell my M8 and along with resorting to wedding assisting work for extra money and getting some paychecks in the mail, order a new M9 yesterday directly from Leica. But it wasn't $7k. I sent in my busted M9 to Leica and they said they couldn't repair it. So they offered me a new one at cost. Which, while still pricey was a lot easier to pay for. I won't divulge what the actual cost was. But let me tell you M9's are not getting cheap anytime soon.

I now have $103 to my name.
