I was hoping to hear that from someonenextreme, you shouldn't be getting a lot of flare, even w/ an uncoated lens. Take a close look and see if you don't possibly have some haze going on in there.
Sorry about going off topic.

Not as good as my last find, rarity or value wise; I just picked up a Contax IIA with Zeiss Sonnar 50/2 (with two filter hoods for the lens, and the bottom half of a case) for $230 from a friend who picked it up at Goodwill yesterday for $1.99 (really!). It is in immaculate condition.

A Vivitar Series 1 200mm f3.5 AUTOFOCUS for Canon FD. It's clunky, but I bought it more for history's sake than expected performance.

Happy to say that my last purchase was about 12 rolls of film.
Before that, in April, I bought a Zeiss ZM Biogon 2.0

I thought I was pretty much done until I came across a pretty looking Canon EF with 50f1.4 lens on eBay. Now just waiting for the mail. Does anyone here have one of these? The electro-mechanical hybred shutter sounds cool, like that new Nikon slr.
Also, what is your last/latest buy?
Great camera. I have one. It was my main camera from 1976 until I started to go digital in 1999. I used it mainly with the 85mm f1.8 lens. I still have the camera. Unfortunately, the meter no longer works and I think there is an issue with getting batteries for it.
Very solid camera that feels great in your hands. Congrats on the purchase.

This arrived at my house last week. It's a Zeiss Ikon Super Ikonta III from the mid 1950s. It's a rangefinder and it's in beautiful condition.

nothing exotic, but I am excited to receive my m8 with full upgrade tomorrow in the mail with one year warranty from Calumet chicago at a great price, only 2600 clicks. I've got the 1940 uncoated Summitar out and ready to go: old tech meets new tech.

The Summitar is really nice on the M8.

Two packages arrived recently. First, a pair of C/V chrome finders (28 & 35) from CQ. Second, a Nikon D3000 with 18-55 VR kit zoom. Such is my fractured photographic pursuit.

Lowepro Nova AW Mini bag (discontinued?) for carrying a TLR when it's not hanging from my neck. Right-sized for TLR with strap and hood mounted, room in front pocket for light meter and extra rolls of film. $17 new on Amazon (TLR not included).
P.S. As posted elsewhere, also tried a Zeiss Ikoflex 1a with Tessar, in great shape. Hated it, sent it back. This despite the 1a being one of the simpler, more mechanically elegant models in a line of Rube Goldberg designs.

Bought an OM4ti with 50 1.8 in April, which triggered this weekend's purchases - Black OM2, Zuiko 28 2.8 and 135 2.8, never ready case for OM and 10 rolls of legacy pro 400. I may not be done

A Yashica-24 66 TLR in beautiful condition. Found it on Craigslist and got it for $140 with the leather case and instruction manual. (The meter is inoperative even with an adapted battery, though.)
The camera was produced from 1966 to 1968, and is somewhat rare. The instruction manual says it "affords you the use of an unusual new 220 film." and there is a sticker inside the back that says "USE 220 FILM ONLY," but there's another sticker (in gold and red) that says "120 FILM START MARK."
Since I now have a camera that shoots 120 and 220, I bought six rolls of film (120 and 220), and some C-41 and E-6 chemicals. Those won't be here till later this week.
While I would like to say I'm done, I know in my heart I'm not.
