Someone posted a Leica M3 on ebay and claims he sent it to DAG for service in April and got it back in May...do you buy it??

I sent him my M3 in early April and am still waiting to get it back..

Believe it or not, I'm with ywenz on this, I had work done on my M7 and it was back within one month from Don.
 
I'm beginning to wonder about Don. Is something wrong?? I sent him an email Monday requesting a price on a lens cap and as yet have not heard back. He always answers within a few hours..

Try telephoning him. I do so when I want that direct, immediate contact with Don.
 
Couple years ago I bought an M3 from KEH in "bargain" and it arrived with DAG's "92" in the wax seal. I called Don and he looked up the serial# and told me right away exactly when it had been serviced and what was done (complete overhaul). If he's in town, I suggest giving him a call if the seller will give you the serial #. Alternately, you could ask the seller to e-mail you a digital shot of DAG's receipt, which he should still have. If there's hamming and hawing, you'll know something's fishy.

This is what makes me wonder if it was really serviced. I asked the seller if the receipt would be included in the auction and never got a response..
 
I was in contact with Don Goldberg about 2 days ago, and he said he'll be out of the shop for a week. Guess camera repairmen also need holidays 🙂

He reckoned it'd take about 4 wks to service a Nikon RF lens after he gets back
