Picking up some groceries, I went past thier photo area and noticed a milk carton with "Expired Film - priced as marked". A big pile of Tmax 100 marked down to $1 each. All due to having an expiration of 02/2007 :D

I'm not a big fan of Tmax - I far prefer Plus-X but at that price I snagged all 39 rolls that were in the milk carton. Now to find some times for it in HC-110...

Local grociery store - Woodman's. Good place to shop & worker owned.

Lucky you, the store which I buy films from currently charge about 8$ for which ever film (TMax/Tri-X etc) - guess I should start looking for a cheaper place to shop!

DigitalTruth, has TMax 100 at 6-7 minutes,20 degrees C, rated a 100 to 200. This would seem as a good place to start. I have only used TMax 400 rated 400, 12 minutes, 20 degrees C, dilution (H). The DigitalTruth numbers (B) are about the same for 400 as 100 so that would be a good place to start. Dilution (B) times are doubled to get dilution (H) times.

One of my best friends was a buyer for a supermarket chain, used to come home with all kinds of samples and free cases of stuff, baked beans, diapers when my son was born....he gave me a year's worth of extra virgin olive oil once, and I cook a lot with olive oil, what a nice gift.

Well, he went almost 6 years on expired Fuji film he was given out of the warehouse. Not bad!!!

You lucky dog. I never find deals like that. Tmax is good for scanning, from my experience. Don't know if you scan or not. If so, you'll probably want to pull the developer a little early...but not too much I use D76 1:1 and I go for about 8 min 45 secs, where digital truth says 9.5 minutes. That's not much change for films like TriX or PlusX, but it makes a big difference with Tmax.

Your grocery store stocks film!? Black and White film too? Honestly, that must be the last grocery store in the world to stock B&W. My grocery store barely keeps (insert generic C-41 film here) in stock. But hell, at $1 per roll the cost for developing might be more than for the film itself. Weird.

Congratulations for sure.

I too am green with envy, William. Why gloat?

Because why not...

Congratulations anyway! I guess the next time I go to Madison I have to check Goodman's out. At one buck a piece any film is good! :)

I'm not too jealous because the savings are almost as good by bulk loading... By chance! whew!
You got a great deal!
