In my case it's determined by gear constraints for a given FL. That is, if I shoot MF , it's Mamiya 7II on the wider end - 43, 80 and the longer one - my favourite 150 (in 135 roughly 21, 39, 73 mm equivalents). If I want to get a tighter frame or place nearby objects precisely in the composition, it's the SLR Mamiya 645 1000s with 80,90,120,150,180 and 300mm in P-six mount. Where square would make sense (it does and fantastically so very often, but I'm always rueful about wasted paper doing blowups), I get my Arax 88, which I like with the 50 mm Flektogon. For 135 it's Zeiss Ikon with 28,35 and 50 mm, and two really great Olympuses OM1 and 2 with 28 and 50mm as backups (have no other OM lenses). Had I money, I would probably buy 21 and 25 ZM lenses and a Bessa body with the corresponding frames, just as mfogiel writes. And maybe 85/2 for the OMs. And then I also have two versions of 100mm Orestor and Helios 44-3 in M42 which I particularly like but haven't managed to buy a decent body for - I targeted Pentax MX and Praktica B200/BC1 several times, but always and convinced myself I really don't need them. And of course there's always the XA in my pocket. And camera choice and FL depends on the mood, of course. Recently it's been the 1000s.
