was surprised to find a brick is now
comprised of 10 rolls of tri-x, or hp-5.
for the same amount of film.

roughly 45.00 for 10 rolls.
i recall a brick used to be 20 some odd rolls, no?

Yes, there was a time. Maybe it's because people shoot some film and some digital these days? So they need half as much film? Or maybe it's like the candy bar that's only half as big for twice the price.

That sounds about right.

Kodak used to have "pro-packs" of 50 rolls in plastic canisters in a yellow box. Ilford had an even better idea - 50 rolls of HP5 in small foil pouches in a box.
The 20-pack brick was gone about 10 years ago and did become a 10 pack. Last big batch of Tri X I ordered was 1000 rolls - and they all came in 10 packs (30 to a box).
Today the stores barely stock more than a couple of "bricks" of 10 of any film. Vancouver has 3-4 stores that still has some film, but I suspect that the total stock among them is less than what i have in the freezer!
