Isn't it coffee time ?
This week i got my minilux, so now i have a XA, GR1s and a minilux, that´s 3 p & s cameras. Once upon a time before that i had a minox GT-X, olympus mju II and a Rollei 35, then i was a broke student and sold all of them.
when do you reach to the point when it´s enough, or is it just point of no return and more gas to come ?
Anyone ?
Can´t think of any other cameras I might need right now either

Well, let's see -- I have a Yashica T4, an Olympus Stylus Epic, a Ricoh GR1, a Pentax 928, a Konica Hexar AF, and I'm getting a Contax T2. All qualify as point and shoot cameras (even the Hexar, depending on how it's used) and all are worth having, and I think I've gotten them all because they all have something to recommend them. I'd still like to get a Nikon 35ti, Minolta TC-1 and Rollei 35AFM should the right deals come along. So I obviously have not reached the saturation point. I guess the ultimate check on my behavior is that it doesn't look like there will be many more (if any!) good film p&s cameras coming out.

I think there is no return.
But I hope what Kim said is true. At some point when we become happy with what we got, then we can finally focus on what we shoot and not on what we shoot with.

That's enough of the quality point and shoot cameras. Now it's time to turn your attention towards Leica screwmount and M mount bodies and interchangeable lenses. One can collect quite a few 50mm lenses alone!

Olympus SP and RD, various Yashicas, Fuji medium format rangefinders, Mamiya MF rangefinders, various other MF rangefinders ...
Sounds to me like you have your GAS under control, but as mentioned, sadly, there is no cure.
(My name is ofthehere and I have GAS) :bang:
EDIT: What does need have to do with GAS anyway?
i THINK i'm finally done collecting point and shoot cameras...i hope...

You have alot of really nice ones there. Covered a really nice variety. Now you just need to set up a gallery and post pics from each camera.

The zen part, though, is somehow getting past the "what I shoot with" part, right off the bat, but, the whole thing about our particular flavor of photographic obsession, is that it IS partly about the gear, and partly about the photography. People who "shoot" with P&S cameras (like little digitals and $30 Bell & Howell 35mm) never even consider the camera as being anything in itself but a means to an end. I shouldn't generalize like that, but I am referring to people who couldn't even tell you what brand their camera is, or what AF is. For them, it is entirely about the pics. And that is cool.
I will always have a thing about the gear. I appreciate cameras for their sheer mechanical design, the optics, etc. I enjoy just holding a camera and admiring it almost as much as shooting with it.
