Not wanting to register and look, I am assuming even for an RF, the front rim must rest on wheels. Or is it VW bug mounted?

I do believe that's an April Fool's joke?

However, they have one of the Kubrick f/0.7 Planars up for auction, and that is definitely real!

is that an underwater lens. I seem to remember seeing a nikon one with huge front element many years ago but it might have been a nikon with zeiss lens on it.

Given the reputation of Westlicht we can assume they did not photoshop it but sell the real thing. Not that that makes it any more useful - that lens supposedly was a joke display object built for a Photokina.

now I look again the lens is off center. The photoshopping is not too clever. Definitely a fishy one.

Q = Quatsch = BS. There is some background about the Super-Q which was a joke from a Zeiss-employee, in The Zeiss Compendium book by Barringer & Small.

Since Mr. Barringer (sadly) passed away last year -- is this item from the auctioning off of his estate?

This is an old joke lens rehashed. But it does produce an image on the film. It was put together to show that if you want a really fast lens, it could be like this. But who would use such a massive 40mm lens. Zeiss was proving a point, in going for quality optic rather than out right speed.
A top quality ZM 50mm f1.2 would be nice though
