I am not sure raid. I have never checked this. I just talked to them when I am in Shreveport at the VA hospitol and have always been in a hurry. They will answer any questions by email though

Welcome to the forum gregarpp! 🙂 I've used 2 labs: Zona here in Massachusetts and A&I in California. Personally I think Zona are slipping but I have received excellent negs from A&I. They develop in XTOL so you may look to the Fuji Neopans or other films that work well with that developer. A&I are set up for mail volume work and they have a well defined workflow for you to follow. Recommended.

Soup you own is my saying. If you can't then I would use Ilford XP2 400. I have a whole box full of XP2 that I have not gotten around to shooting yet. Because I like to shoot and develop the classic stuff. 😉

The question was where to send your film. I answered the question and did not go off on a tangent as to why to develop yourself. Yes, I do develop and now do have a 120 reel. There are many reasons why someone would/could not develop themselv es and still want the esthetics of true B&W film. I think to often we are to quick with our opions and not as quick to answer the question. My apologies if I mis-interpreted your replygabrielelopez said:

I use Fotohall in Sunny Southern California they will also scan the negs to a CD. I have not mailed anything to them but you could ask. I am happy with their results, on da other paw they don't do interesting chemicals and stuff that you could do yourself

Using a lab for B&W has certainly become dicey in the past 10 years and has led to a mixed-bag of experiences for me. I've had great results along with ruined film due to underdevelopment/old chemicals/who-knows-what. In fact, it's not getting much better for color (C-41 or E-6) either!
I've used A&I in the past but have been using a local shop lately -- The Darkroom in Northridge CA. They've done great work for me in all formats (up to 4x5) and all types of film. Like dostaco's lab, it's across the street from Cal State Northridge.

For Xtol fans, sixtyeightdegrees.com not only uses Xtol as their standard developer, but they have a big Refrema dip-and-dunk machine filled with Xtol.
It's an impressive thing, if you've never seen one. The film hangs on racks straight down--no spirals--and is lifted from one huge tank to the next. The racks can hold rollfilm and they also have frames for sheet film sizes up to 20x24". They have an infrared video camera in the room to monitor it from the outside, just to be sure there are no mishaps.

Where in the USA are you located?
Here in the Washington, DC area, we have @ least 3 excellent labs that developing B&W. The 1st, Black & White, in Arlington, VA specializes in B&W (as you can probably tell from their name): http://www.blackwhitelab.com. The 2nd, Chrome, in DC, also does color: http://www.chromeimaging.com. The 3rd, Asman, also in DC, also does color like Chrome: http://www.asmanphoto.com.

Try the color Lab Inc. (color.lab@airmail.net) located in Dallas, Texas. I have used them for years for b&w (plus-x, tri-x, delta 100, etc.), transparancies and scans. they are reasonable and do good work.
