Where can I find (roughly) what a Rolleiflex 2.8D is worth?

I can't seem to find any completed sales on eBay and KEH don't seem to have anything to give me a guide.

This sounds about right. US $800 = AUD $1,200. Which is about what Rollei TLRs go for when one turns up now and then in secondhand shops in Melbourne.

Even the once-lowly Rolleiflex Ts and the older Rolleicords have shot up in value since Covid. So AUD $800 for a D if it's in good working order is a fine price.

I had a D way back when. My Rollei data books are at home and I'm now in Asia, but as I recall this was a mid 1950s model and still entirely usable.

Before you buy, be sure to check the focusing to ensure it flows smoothly and doesn't 'bump' when you move the focusing in and out. As well, inspect the lens mounts carefully for signs of home tinkering. Also the slow speeds. One second can be slow on those early TLRs. Repairs are not cheap.

See also if it has the 35mm Rolleikin 'wheel' attached.

Those early models are as hardy as anything and easy to work with. Even if it functions smoothly and everything works well, AUD $1,200 is rather a high price to pay, but it likely all depends on the overall condition.

The classifieds has some issues! One of the images in my ad refused to open a couple of hours after I placed the ad ... it was fine initially. I did an edit and deleted and re-uploaded it and it's ok again. How do we let Jorge (MPguy) know about this sort of thing?

Listed and sold on the same day, well done...

I've owned Zeiss Planars and Tessars in my Rolleis, but the Xenotar is just as good if a little less 'yuppy'. And with an Oleson screen, well, yum!!

Whoever bought your D got a truly good deal.
