Got ya, had forgotten about hoods, as I do not use them too much myself. I wouldn't change your lenses to suit filters, but would consider another possibility. If the hood fits onto a bayonet thread, it may work if you put the hood on, screw in a filter of the native size of your filter thread, and then screw a step up ring into this filter.
This may work, or at least does with my Sonnar-C, which takes 46mm filters, where I cannot put both the hood and a step-up ring (46-52) onto the lens at the same time. If I put the hood on, screw in a 46mm uv filter I have, then I can screw the step up ring onto that. Not sure if this will work in your case, but could be worth a shot/ worth exploring.
