I tried Freestyle but all they have is iso 100 dx coded cartridge.

As I bulk load my kentmere 400 film, finding DX coded 800 cartridge a pain.

any suggestions ?

Modify your own with a knife & black marker ? Know there's a site out there somewhere that shows you the patterns for each iso. If you did have a lot, you could likewise look at printing your own, although personally I would be loath to sticker anything going inside my camera, as I would fear the adhesive rubbing off onto the camera insides..

Forget the knife. Just use aluminum duct tape.

Not the sticky gaffer style tape, but a $2 roll of real duct tape which lies flat and has very little residue. Takes me 30 seconds to cut a few squares out and change the ISO to whatever I want. It is designed to adhere to metal.

You could do what I did and make your own DX stickers with double-sided tape, aluminum foil and masking tape.

This example is for ISO 125 @36 shots:

thanks much... i also found out the easiest way to get
iso 800 is to use a iso 400 cartridge and scrape only
one square for iso 800 or another square for iso 1600.

thanks for the advice! i will scour the hardware store for
alum tape.

How about here:
http://www.firstcall-photographic.co.uk/products/748/firstcall-dx-recoder-labels-iso-800

They apparently also have most other common film speeds. 25 to 3200.
I don't know anything about the company and haven't dealt with them.

EDIT: the stuff they sell looks pretty interesting but what they are quoting for delivery charges seems a bit high:
Rest of the world deliveries

Standard International DeliveryStandard delivery to any country outside of the EU costs from £84.00 for a package weighing up to 10 kg.

If you are using htrow-away canisters, scratching paint and using electrician's tape (I've used even stick-it notes in field) to make required pattern takes a minute of work. I've saved picture with DX codes in phone. Carrying a printed image is even better.
I'd save on stickers and spend money elsewhere...buy more film.

sorry i didn't mention this,
i bought a nice minilux from
a fellow rff member. the minilux
defaults to iso 100 if no dx code
is detected.

i used one of the common
iso 400 dx cartridge and turned
the EV -1 for iso 800.

i supposed this is another alternative
method ?
