I am down to four, five if you count the aluminum case for my Super Press 23. Each contains a different camera system. GAS isn't a problem for me for bags.

Kill the frustration by having a couple custom bags made. The last bag I bought was over a year ago. Custom made to order. Way less money than you might guess. The one before that was also made to my spec maybe another year prior. It was fun and no more whinging on about bags.

I've never heard or read a rule on number of camera bags. I have three press camera cases loaded. I have two backpacks for trips empty. I have fourteen other bags. They are all full of cameras or lenses except two and I could easily fill them up if I wanted to. Simple, I just get what I need to carry what I've got!

I lost count. They are lying here and there, mostly unused. The only good thing right now is that I am not buying any. For now my pockets are enough, but that will come to an end when summer arrives and I don't have enough pockets.

My bride has a bag purse addiction. That is enough for the both of us. I do have five bags but not one of them a designated full time photo bag.

Joe, don't fret about it. You've got things figured out simpler than most of us. I've got about 70 cameras sitting on shelves, 4 or 5 good camera bags that I use depending on what I want to carry where, and maybe a dozen crappy bags that came with kits that I bought at garage sales. I'm not losing any sleep over this, and you don't have to either. Just give yourself a break. Relax. Exhale.

I had 12 rules. That was obviously too much. I got rid of those I didn't use.
Now I'm back to a small set of rules I use on a daily basis, but I keep reading of all the beautiful rules people on RFF has, and I quite often have a surge of RAS.

Some people don't have any real problems. So they look for problems and find that the biggest problem they have is not knowing where the photo bag rules come from.
Looks like a luxury problem to me.
I got a big bag, a medium bag and a small bag. Whatever fits what I need to take with me is the bag to use. When past mending, replace. Easy.

My wife gives me gip about the number of bags I have as well. But I think there needs to be a bag for every situation. Think I have about 10 bags and the problem we have is we live in an apartment and bags take up a lot of room. When my wife hassles me about my gear I ask her about how her apple collection is looking. iMac, MacBook pro, 2 x iPad, iPhone 5 and iPhone 4s and she then leaves me alone🙂 Joe I always like reading your threads because they are always honest questions or concerns. You do tend to take a bit of sh*t though. Keep smiling.
