I keep my stuff in a locked box chained to a concrete post next to a loaded Glock 32 with this sitting on top of it:

I thought I was bad with what I've got but you guys make me look like an amateur...
Hall closet with custom shelves holds about 6 cameras, darkroom chemistry, film, tripods, lightstands, reflector discs, camera bags and a bunch of other crap...
Extra bedroom/office closet has another set of shelves I made where I store about 10 more cameras, photo magazines, books, binders full of 35mm and 120 negs...oh and a table with two enlargers...

I have one M6 (which needs to have her focus patch realigned) and a 35mm Summicron.

As for storage, it's ok in a bag.

I've got an M6 and 25mm and 90mm Zeiss lenses. I keep them in a crumpler backpack that has a removeable padded pouch for camera gear. I remove the pouch if I know I'm not taking photos since I take the bag everywhere and don't want to bang up anything. The pouch stays in my tiny (4 feet x 4 feet) "office".

Is that dog real?

Yes.

And, seriously, I keep my bagged 'kits' and collection of desiccant packets in a military foot locker, and I keep my exposed film, p&s cameras, collection cameras, etc. in a hutch (that my GF is quickly taking over).
