I knew he signed off when Stephen took over but what happened to him? Does anyone know? Did he go DSLR all the way?

Jorge seems to be keeping a lower profile, but as far as I know, he still is the technical director for the site. Correct me if I'm wrong mods, but that was my impression from some recent posts following the upgrade.

All still sounds very mysterious.
Jorge is still around and still part of the team. He does still help Stephen with a lot of the technical side of the site and visits fairly regularly.
No mystery, he is a busy guy.

I never quite worked out why Stephen calls Jorge 'George'.

Still here 🙂 Checking in now and then. Been shooting a lot with the D3 lately. Bouncing back and forth between SLR and RF. This weekend will be back to the MP. Lets see what else ??? I see the site is growing on a daily basis and doing well. Been waiting for the snow to clear for climbing in the North Cascades. Its been a long winter and I may need to get the crampons out again 🙁 Anyway, thanks for asking.
