ZM 18mm in August in the U. S. for about $1100 (street price) is a good guess. Hmmm -- better start saving now.

As I said earlier -- maybe it is the D18 from the C/Y series -- kind of looks like it. The D18 of the C/Y series is an awesome lens, so I wouldn't be upset if it was. The all I would need is an adapter and a viewfinder

How about a lot? The D18 ZM is depicted on the CZ web site. While it qualifies by Zeiss logic as a Distagon, the BFD (back focal distance) is very short versus the D18 in C/Y mount. This is clear from the already-short ZM lens registration, and the protruding rear element.

I asked Zeiss today, they confirmed an availability date "within June 2007", meaning that one can order it then through their online shop. The datasheet is already available at their homepage:

It looks extremely promising, almost zero distortion, even better than the 25, although no example pics are presented. And its so very small. IMHO, Prices should be comparable to the 2.8/28.

I just stumbled upon the 21/4.5 at the Zeiss site the other day- looking for info on lens caps:bang: (I dropped my shiny new cap for the 25 and lost one of the little springs) I'll be GASsing for this one. 18 is probably too wide for me.
