Hi I'm new to the forum and have tried to search for the answer to no avail.
I'm just getting back into film photography (not that I ever got into digital beyond my phone!) s I'm a little clueless, although I think know what I want!
Do they make Agfa Copex Rapid in 120 rolls if so same question, where can I get hold of it mail order
thanks

It's a microfilm, so it's probably not available in 120, if anyone would have it, it would likely be http://www.macodirect.de/, but a quick search shows they have it in 135, but not 120.
If it's slow B&W you're after in 120, there are a couple of other options, A&G Photographic is quite good.

Not really. Maco they have their own (Maco and Rollei) product lines, and sell Adox just like they sell Fuji or Kodak - that is, with shipping delays on new products and limited stock.
The dealer directly associated with Adox and correspondingly immediate access to their inventory would be Fotoimpex. They currently have CMS20 in 120 in stock: http://www.fotoimpex.de/shop/filme/...formatfilme-120/adox-cms-20-rollfilm-120.html. They do ship abroad.
As I haven't noticed its existence before, and it is right on top of their premium line news page, it probably is very new - YMMV as to when it will trickle down to other (or UK) dealers (Maco already seem to have it, but if it is new there, it may still take days or even weeks to spread to lower volume/more distant dealers).

Never had a problem with either of them. A&G, I use regularly, seem a decent bunch.

Copex (Agfa) ATP1.1 or CMS 20 in roll film format is far over the maximum resolution of any medium format lens.
So the advantage of quality improvement is limited. In 35mm with any Leica or Zeiss lens you can make photos like in medium format.
All films have the disadvantage of a steep developing curve in higher light contrast situations. One of THE reasons they try to compensate it with a special low contrast microfilm developer. But it is only a part of the solution.

Interesting Fotohuis and what you say makes sense, if max resolution is all you are concerned with...
AG Photographic have now listed on the website what 120 roll stock of CMS 20 they have. They have been a pleasure to deal with, so far.
Waiting for it to arrive sometime next week hopefully, along with all the chemicals to get me developing film again after a 15 year break.

Freestyle also carries it. Compare your shipping and currency conversion costs with Maco and FotoImpex and buy from whomever turns out cheaper.

Macodirect is excellent. Reliable, fast, cheap.
But that is also true for all the other German online film distributors like Fotoimpex, Nordfoto, Foto Brenner, Phototec, Generalphoto, Lumiere, Afa-Fotohandel, Phobatec, Technikdirekt etc.

But that is not the relevant point, Robert.
If you choose a microfilm with your medium format lens (whatever this lens is) you will get much higher resolution, better sharpness and finer grain compared to TMX, Delta 100, Acros 100, Pan F+, Efke 25 etc..
Your results with a good lens will than be quite near to image quality of 4x5" sheet film.
If you combine a given lens with a better film you will always have a better performance of your system film + lens.
Same with given film and then using a better lens: better performance of the whole system as well.
All films have the disadvantage of a steep developing curve in higher light contrast situations.
ATP yes, but Copex Rapid in Spur Modular UR New and in Agfa Scala reversal no, not at all. There this film - developer combination is even better than lots of conventional film - developer combinations.
Cheers, Jan
