Where to buy base sticker for M

I don't know else how to describe them. So, does anyone know where to purchase these base stickers online? I mean that protective sticker that peels back.

I have tried my usual port of call - Popflash but with no success.

Hi,
I have always found black PVC insulating tape to be satisfactory for what you want. Most electrical retailers will stock this in various widths, I have never had a problem with removal when I have sold a camera. IPA will remove any residue, though I have not found it necessary.

I don't understand; I may be new here, but I am by no means new to Leica RF issues. I've grappled with mine, ridiculous and not-so-ridiculous ones, and I was the first to toss the baseplate coverings in the bin each and every time, and there have been many times. But from that to accosting this honest OPer seems odd to me. The man wants his 'stickers', and if he feels better for it, why deride him?

There is a Shaman element to photography, and I truly think we should respect it. Stickers, black tape, blacked-out red dots, the lot.

I sincerely feel, for whatever it may be worth, that these Shamanistic traits help, do not detract from, the ultimate goal: photographic creativity.

Like poker players, who indulge in strange rituals - no less strange than our RF ones - like spitting over their shoulders, rubbing peppercorns, etc., etc.

Where in my post did I indicate that I liked these camera base protectors or 'scratch pads'? Actually, I plan to sell my TTL in two months time and will be using it constantly before then to finish an ongoing project. I want to protect the base of my camera as best as possible from scratches to ensure a valid resale value. The fact that I didn't even know their correct name reflects how much I liked them.

So, to be honest I find the process of tracking down this 'scratch pad' on the net, paying through a credit card and then applying it to the base of my camera a pain in the ass, but nevertheless a financially worthwhile process in the long run.

I guess it was to be expected that you would contribute such a pointless snide remark - that kind of feedback has become your calling card when someone is asking for advice that doesn't agree with you. The only beastly thing is your abrasive attitude.

What I am wondering is, why is a man who is boasting a thousand pound daily rate for his services with a camera on another thread, admittedly spending his time scratching around in bins and leaving worthless spam remarks on the internet? What happened - are potential clients looking for photographers who provide more than standard textbook fare? I guess creativity is an innate talent. It just doesn't add up, it seems someone has too much time on his hands. Go figure...

You are a happy fellow, aren't you? Selective in your reading, too. Where did I say I was scratching around in bins? That's where I THROW the damn' things: you can look in my bins if you like. Also, as I said in the other thread, my day rate runs from +£1000 (all too seldom nowadays, though it still happens occasionally) to -£several hundred (again pretty rarely, but it happens if I'm working for a cause I believe in).

Too much time on my hands? Sort of. I'm semi-retired and I use this forum as a place for relaxation. You might also notice that I attacked scratch protectors, not you personally. We all make errors of judgement, and you clearly think I made one here, for which I apologize; but I really don't think it warranted the kind of bile in your reply.

Self adhesive Velcro is neat too-the soft side only makes a nice base.
