I see that Robert White are now the "official UK importers" for Voigtlander.
Don't suppose that cutting out the middleman will mean lower prices though?

Given that a 28/3.5 costs 195 GBP without VAT from Robert White and 285 USD from CameraQuest I would say that cutting out the middleman hasn't had a wonderful effect on UK prices so far. I hope I'm proved wrong in the long run...

Well if you work it out and assume 5% import duty, after shipping costs, there only seems to be £10 or £15 in it.......

You have to pay VAT in addition in both cases.........

Does any-one know whether Robert White will give RFF members, say, a 5% discount ?

That would about even it up then, for that example anyway.........

My own experience with RW, is though extremely nice and knowledgeable folk, discount is not part of their vocabulary..........................

Just to say that on the two occasions I've ordered from Cameraquest, I haven't paid duty or tax. It seems to be because Steven dispatches normal air-mail, that a lot gets through customs unhindered.
