On my trip soon to Japan, I will be landing in Osaka first. I plan on only bringing a couple of film cassettes from home, and buying what I need for the rest of the trip in Osaka.
Do you know a place in Osaka you can recommend going to, when looking for film?

I will be staying in the area of Soemon-cho, Chuo-ku. Anything near that street?

as one option... Yodobashi Camera is about 15 minutes from Dobutsuen-Mae Station on the Midosuji Line. It's one of the big discount chain stores... there will be no problem in getting film in Osaka... just ask at your hotel...

I second what Gabor says, bring film from home unless you are happy shooting Fuji Neopan 100 etc...
Prices are through the roof!

Thank you all for your answers. Of course I should have just Googled for Osaka and Yodobashi.
I am aware of the price issue, but would like to avoid two security-checks on my way out for as many of the film cassettes as possible.

Holy Crap! I checked Yodobashi camera. The film prices are nuts. Illford is insanely expensive. When I left it 525 yen a roll for 36 exposures. It is now 1525 yen a roll for 36 exposures. That is three-fold. Even Kodak is has jumped by 50%. The only reasonable film price seems to be Fuji Acros.

Sad to see.
