I've been giving some thought to buying a J-8. I missed out on one recently in the classifieds. Figure I can either wait for another to come up, or I can look elsewhere.
I thought I remember reading about a particular dealer known to have good examples. But I can't seem to find what I'm searching for on Google or in the archives.
(of course it doesn't help that Jupiter-8 also happens to be the name of a Roland synthesizer).

Any suggestions? Are there things I should look for? Or avoid?

Yeah, I think Fedka is the go-to place for these things. I bought my J3 on RFF, and I'm sure if you wait an FSU lens will show up again.

id go with fedka , you might pay a bit more than if you ebayed it but at least it will be a good lense when you get it .

My black J-8 from fedka is one of my favorite lenses; I think you'll be happy. The only odd thing about these late-model J-8s is that the entire lens barrel rotates when you focus. It took a while for me to remember to always set aperture first and then focus.

I just took a J-8 and removed lens and replace it with one from a holiday flash brownie now I hope pics are interesting.
