I live in southern NJ. I know Leitz used to be in Rockleigh, NJ. I have a 24mm Leica ASPH lens that I want to get 6 bit coded. I did a google, but can't seen to find a web site or address for Leica USA, to contact them about how I go about having the lens coded. Does anyone know where they are? I assume I would send directly to them rather than go through a dealer? Thanks in advance.

I was told to contact Leica USA Customer Service nearer to the end of September. Sounds like they're still getting tooled up or something.
Cost is $125 per lens.

Alas, after all the excitement of seeing the M8 in a video last night, I trekked out to Allendale today in order to turn in my two lenses (35mm 1.4 ASPH and 50mm 1.4 ASPH) for encoding. They're not accepting lenses until the beginning of November, from what I was told, so my trip was wasted. I had called ahead but I guess the situation had changed in the last week. They're still working on getting tooled up, as someone else said. So, don't send in your lenses yet, at least until you hear more of an official word from Leica.

I also want to get my 50mm lubricated, it is just too stiff. I want to do it all at once so I don't have to send the lenses in twice.

Regards,

Larry
