It stopped working a while ago, and when I saw that the manufacturer no longer supports it I put it back in its box and forgot about it. But I would really like to get it fixed if I could.
My Scan Dual IV stopped working back while I was using a PC last year. After I got my iMac, I tried the Scan Dual with a trial copy of Vuescan. It still didn't work. It won't move the film holder.
Is my Scan dual IV history, or does someone work on them?

Sony bought the imaging division of Konica/Minolta, and offers service on all Minolta products.
Contact your nearest Sony service center for a quote, they have fixed prices on most items, I believe, I had my Minolta Scan Elite II repaired 2 years back (same problem, film holder wasn't moving) for slightly over 120 euros, if I recall.

Sony US has a less than adequate record repairing Minolta film cameras, hopefully they'll be better with the scanners...

Precision Camera in Enfield CT does the service for Konica/Minolta (via SONY) in the USA. They repaired and performed a CLA on my Konica/Minolta Dimage Scan Multi Pro a year ago. They did an excellent job, timely, and actually had parts for the scanner.

I have had the same problem with mine. The fix was simple. Take the lid off the scanner and you will see a long bar with a screw thread which is turned by a stepper motor. This is what moves the film holder and mine seemed to stick. Gently turning it by hand will probably release it - it did on mine but it soon stuck again. I carefully lubricated the motor and the threaded bar and it has been fine since. Don't be too generous with the lube ! Difficult to give more detail because the lid is back on mine and I'm going from memory but it was quite simple to do and my scanner is fine now. Hope this helps.

Precision can be a real PITA to 'deal' with, as this thread shows. I'd hesitate before sending anything to them, and get some references for the piece you want repaired.
