where to shop in Japan

where's the best place to buy CV stuff in Japan, I'm here on business until Sunday (22nd?)
In particular I'm looking for a vented lens hood for my 40 f1.4
Anyone got anywhere they can recommend?
The name I've got so far is Lemon Cameras, anyone got any experience there?

For CV stuff you can go to BIC camera or Yodobashi in Shinjuku. They'll have whatever you need in CV.

And if they don't, Map Camera in Shinjuku (near Yodobashi) certainly will.

Map is the biggest, though Lemon isn't bad. In Shinjuku, I think Yodobashi is better (go to their separate camera store nearby) than Bic, but Bic surprisingly does have quite a few CV items. The Bic Camera shop in Ikebukuro is their main, and fairly large, camera branch. The new Yodobashi Camera shop in Akihabara is a fairly large, though generic, electronics shop with a good current production camera selection.

If I had to pick just one place to go, I'd go to Map Camera (and Yodobashi is so close by just in case). Map Camera is big and is focused towards the enthusiast, as opposed to some of the more general electronics shops like Bic or Yodobashi.

Going to the places listed in this thread so far should cover every current production CV item that you could possibly be interested in. If you're interested in even more, there's a shop list in the photo clubs section of this site, go to the Japan subforum and you'll see it.

Also, Fujiya in Nakano is a good place.

Another vote for Fujiya just near Nakano StationMy experience has been that Fujiya Camera is cheaper than Map Camera, and Map Camera is cheaper than Lemonsha.

thanks for the tips guys, I got sorted yesterday at Lemon Camera in Ginza (we were visiting Ginza yesterday so it was convenient). They had an impressive range of rangefinders, lots of Nikons and cabinet after cabinet of Leica, not so many Voigtlander products but some unusual stuff (including a very wide bessa with twin lenses?).
I got an LH5 vented hood for just over 15 quid and a VL-1 case for my heliar 15mm and finder for about 12.70. How are the prices? Wasn't too worried about price, products aren't available in Shanghai.
Getting the case for the VL-1 took time.
"I want to get a case for this lens" guy points at standard lens cases on counter
"but I have the viewfinder as well" the guy suggests buying two.
I take him over to the Voigtlander cabinet and point at the VL-1, he says "no, this is for voigtlander", I show him the logo on the lens.
He says "but this is for the 15mm lens", I show him the logo on the lens
Anyway, got there eventually.
I'm really pleased with the vented hood, I'd been using a screw-in "Leica" vented hood from China (extremely cheap but all that was available locally at the time), the lens cap kept falling out, the LH-5 is extremely sturdy and the lens cap goes straight through to clip onto the lens, well worth the money I think (and it looks great)
I'll probably check out the other places in Shinjuku at the weekend, hoping the rain stays off a bit so I can get out and take some pics.

Another vote for Fujiya. If you are going to Shinjuku, it's just one stop away on the Chuo rapid line. Bic Camera is ok, especially if you check out the Ikebukuro branch on Sun Road, or the big store in Yurakucho, but their prices are much higher than Fujiya. For my money, Fujiya really is the best.

I was in Shinjuku today so I popped into Yodabashi and Map Camera, neither had a huge amount of stock (I think Lemon had more). The LH5 vented hood for the Nokton 40 was slightly more expensive at Map (no stock at yodabashi) at 4200 yen, compared to 3885 yen at Lemon Camera
