With so many worldly wise well travelled posters on this forum, I wondered if you could help me out with a recommendation of where to stay in Rome, specifically in, or very near to, the Jewish Quarter.
I am honoured to be my elder brothers best man in October this year. I, my wife and two sons (4 years old and the youngest just 1 year old) plan to stay for a week.
Any tips on places to stay, eat and see gratefully received.
Regards, Simon.

rome is pretty small. anywhere is near the jewish quarter. i stayed at the navona (near the plaza navona) last year. charming, well priced, and about a 10-15 minute walk from the jewish quarter. maybe less, even. apparently, the best coffee in rome is just around the corner from the hotel, but i didn't find that out until after i got back.

+1 for Trastevere
easy walking distance to the old ghetto
full of good restaurants
walking distance most anywhere as others have said
easy access to Testaccio -- a working class area of Rome, also with good restaurants
How long will you have in Rome?

Cheers all. Trastevere sounds good. Any recommendations on places to stay ? Seems well stocked with B&B type accommodation.

If you're going to be staying for a week, then I'd recommend renting an apartment. It's much more convenient, cheaper, and you get to experience more authenticity than you do if you stay in a hotel.
