I picked up a Contax IIa with 50/1.5 Sonnar.. just dropped the payment in the mail today

but now you've got me looking at my credit card statements wondering if I can afford a $655 hit (actually $675 with shipping).. what's the consensus here... should I do it, or wait to see what else pops up in 2 months?

Thanks for the heads-up, I already noticed that, and in fact there's quite a bit of Leica Ms for sale right now, at least one M3 DS and two M4-Ps on photo.net and several on the bay...

But how to say... it seems my favorite camera is always the one I don't have yet ! 😀

And also... the 4 Koni shock absorvers for the car already took those 500 €, but man, do they make a difference ! 🙂

that's funny as i have never tried the self timer on any of my cameras that had/have one.

Because everybody is going Digital and not enough people use these fine pieces of equipment. The Shipping is not too bad unless the seller is charging excessive "handling fees". I shipped the F2 Photomic with elns to Oscar for ~$30. It is the EU TAX that will kill you, about 1/4th of the purchase price. You literally have to get the seller to "revalue" it, which means that it can not be insured for the full amount. Items coming into the US have a reasonable amount excised. I paid $15 for $300 of stuff bought from Hong Kong.
