No one's mentioned the 28 Elmarit-M ASPH yet. Why not?

I completely agree. It is only marginally larger than the latest 28/2 Summicron.
It is smaller than the 50/1.5 Nokton, for instance.
I believe size complaints are largely based on wrong comparison data
that you find sometimes, e.g. one lens measured with hood and/or from last
element surface, the other one without hood and from lens flange.

i have the 28/3.5 and find it to be a great little lens. i love the compactness of it as well as its signature. shortly after purchasing it i got a 3rd version elmarit which is one of my favorite lenses. several shots on my uber page were taken w the elmarit; and there is one with the first release of the 25/4.
