It looks like 135 to me, or they've screwed around in PS with the background a bit.

Sorry to be rude fdigital, but imho she needs a cheeseburger or two. To me, the stick-insect/heroin chic-look is off-putting.

When I hold someone's arm, I'd prefer that my thumb and finger don't touch. 🙂

I'm with you Mike. Unfortunately, the super-skinny, 15-year old model seems to be the current fashion advertisement trend.

Regarding technology, probably film with a fast, medium length tele. Post-photoshop'ed to make her look like Barbie.

Stop the 'stick-insect/heroin chic-look' rant. Do any of you know Miranda Kerr well enough to know the she started modelling at 14, and this could well be a photo from her early days.

Some models are trim and slim because they are very fit and active. Family friends have a daughter, Sara Davies(represented by Vivien's), who is a young but up and coming model. I just started shooting with a 16 year-old who is just embarking on her modelling career. Both of these girls are 5' 10", thin and trim, one is an accomplished ballet dancer and the other a fully qualified life-guard and a very good cricketer. Read Miranda Kerr's bio and you will find out that she was raised in the country Australia and tom-boy.

Miranda Kerr is definitely not a '15 year old barbie'...

Not the girl's fault, but I agree. This is the same industry that co-opted the "chicken hawk" porn look to sell Calvin Klein jeans, though, so it's nothing new for them.

I was talking about the photo, and the choice of model, not the person that was photographed. As a pro you must understand the difference, PLM. As a father of a 16 year old, I have a good sample of the target audience.

I thought the tan had faded, shed put on a bit of weight and lost a that collagen-lip-thing, but you are most welcome to your opinion 🙂

She's a skinny girl yes, but not unhealthily skinny. She's also 100% natural, no collagen etc. She's actually releasing a book directed at teenage girls called "treasure yourself" which is about being content with who you are, and also a guide on healthy eating habits and being healthy in general.


That particular picture I've never seen before. There's HEAPS of better pictures of her, but I just thought this forum might have found that particular one interesting, as it looks to me like it's a film based image.
Maybe I was wrong?

As for the photo, I really like it. It is a beautiful photo of a beautiful girl and I suspect that is exactly what Miranda Kerr was at the time of this photo, a 15 or 16 year old girl. As I know Miranda today, she is gorgeous, vivacious, curvy model that I would love to have the opportunity to shoot with one day.

As for the naysayers, let them in the dark as the quality of our Aussie girls, which are naturally some of the most gorgeous, lean, fit, and handsome women on this planet.

If anyone needs proof of this claim, visit Sydney and spend a day in Double Bay, the place that has been repeatedly proclaimed as having the most drop-dead gorgeous women per square meter in the world. But if you have 'Puritanical Tendencies' then stay away from Bondi Beach where all these beauties go when it gets hot to swim and sun-bathe topless. You may break your neck from stepping on your own tongue.

I guess Australia really is the lucky country.

Hehe - thanks for the backup, I of course wasn't directing my above comment toward you, I actually found your comments extremely interesting, especially the one about the 2400 slides of Megan Gale - thats got to be AMAZING to see.

I do suspect the photo is of a younger Miranda as you said - she certainly looks around the 18-20 age.

To guess at the question at hand I'd say Mamiya RZ67, not sure which lens though it has shalllow DOF (face focused and left shoulder is out) and I agree it was probably Portra (Fuji is punchier if there's such a word).

OOF areas not creamy enough to be Canon digital. Remember I'm just guessing here.
