Which Camera is your Sweetie using?

Back again three years after my initial posting. It is pleasant to see that the thread is active again.

My wife is now using an Olympus Stylus for casual shooting with color film. When she wants me to do something in the darkroom with the pictures she's taken, the camera is an Olympus OM-1. Lighter than the Nikkormat and fits into a purse more easily.

Kristi uses a Canon 450D + Tamron 17-50/2.8, a kit that I bought her. She's also has a tendency to poach my Canon G9. Regardless of which she has, she's usually taking pictures of something really small.

My Wife uses two Voigtlander Bessa-L's. She really does not know anything about photography, yet is very comfortable with these. Like a deluxe point-n-shoot (guess the distance, get the green light), that takes alot of my nice lenses.

My sweetie's been an Olympus gal since before we met (nearly twelve years ago...!)

Galfriend with beloved OM-2S.

Her two long-time photographic companions: an Olympus OM-2S Program, which she loves to pieces and complains she doesn't get to use enough; and an Olympus Stylus (the first one), which she also loved so much, and used a good deal, that when she lost it while out on a bike ride with me a handful of years ago, she was heartbroken. I secretly worked to track down another one just like it, and, roughly two months later, succeeded in finding one in near-mint condition, with box and manual. Surprised her with it ("Wait...it's not even my birthday...!"), and she's been snapping happy ever since. Hasn't said a peep about digital. Of course, I make sure she has film of her own on hand for whenever the mood strikes.

I think (hope!) she'll keep me.🙂

Ling used to shoot with a D70 + 18-70mm zoom, but found it too heavy to lug around. So we sold it, and got a Lumix digital P&S instead. Now she complains that the IQ sux 😀

Here she is in Ayutthaya, Thailand with her D70. Never did figure out how she could hold her sun umbrella and camera at the same time ...

Here's the shot she took as I took the photo above.

Great thread folks.

I'm single right now, but back when I was in architecture school I was dating a girl who had a small collection of vintage cameras. She was a photography major at an art school and her primary camera was a Hasselblad 501C/M. But she would rotate use of her collection of vintage cameras. At dinner once, she pulled out a Rollei 35 out of her bag to take a photo and I knew I was in love. She was a very cool chick, but sadly we lost touch and I no longer know where she is.

My other half uses a crummy Olympus p&s, and also my Balda Baldessa 1a. This has it's problems as the little tag on the take-up spool is worn to a nubbin, so it is a pain to load, and the last roll of film in it she managed to spring the door... luckily in a darkened room, but enough for the film to spring off the sprockets and bring the roll to a premature end!

Actually my wife was a Pentax user before I became so enlightened.
She still has her trusty old K1000, and I recently got her a nice P3n.
And I just bought our 12 year old daughter a Pentax E40 digicam...

Actually,

Actually,

my Sweetheart/Wife, uses me. Although she will not pick up a camera, she will gripe/swear/complain(pick one or all) And if I don't get the pic she wants, EVEN if I'm not around for whatever reason, it is still my fault I didn't take the picture.
I've tried to get her to use a camera, but it just isn't her way,(she also doesn't have a drivers license), so guess who the designated driver is.:bang:

I guess Im a bit of a cad, but the last one was using a very early Nikon FM in chrome with a pre-Series E 50 and I got her a nice 24mm and then we split up. The woman in my life now isnt really in my life but she has a Nikon D200 and a horrible lens which "zoom's"... gah can you imagine a lens that "zooms" what will they think of next....
