Which Camera/Lens are you using this Weekend?

I had a great time with my old $5 Canonet and some cheap Fuji 200 ASA Color Film at Bodega Head (Pacific Coast) Saturday. It was good to get back to just being creative and letting go of the hyper technical style of photography. Sometimes I think I was better when I was being creatively expressive rather then trying to be consciously skilled. The Zen people say to learn a skill and then use it without thinking about it. Last night I went through my cameras and lenses on the shelf close to the desk where the computer is stationed, and to my big surprise I found out that I already own a Summitar! I usually use all of my lenses. I had no clue I even had this lens. I put some AGFA 400 B&W film in a Leica IIIc to try out this lens today if I find something good for photography. This morning I added a Konica II with EFKE 25 tomy little daily use camera bag and I also saw my Bessa L with CV 25mm/4 with a color film already in it [remains] so I added it too.

Have a great day.

visited ratzeburg and travemünde in north germany on Sunday with M2 and 50mm Elmar. The weather was rainy/drizzly so I took pictures very sparingly.

Lubitel:

I suggest taking more photos in such weather. You will be able to catch a romantic mood in rainy weather. I recall such consistent weather in the South of Germany close to Stuttgart around Ulm at this time of the year. One possibility is to go up a church tower (where it is dry) and shoot downwards at the wet streets.

It was a dull/overcast/threatening rain Monday afternoon. I went over to the local arboretum with the Canon 7, J12, Canon 50/1.8 and Steinheil 85/2.8. Used all three lenses and finished off a roll of FP4+.
Off to do some souping.

Planning for the coming weekend - I'm going to try out my new combo - R3M and Canon 50 f/1.2. And, if it arrives in time, a new (to me) summilux that i bought from an internet auction site.....I've got a roll of velvia 50 in the R3M to finish off.

Took the Zeiss Ikon + 35 'cron (pre-asph) for a spin yesterday, with some indoor and outdoor shooting. This is a *great* combination, by the way--very compact and light.

Nice one Peter.

For me, I took the M6 Ti to the park Sunday 1. to finish the last Reala roll from the holidays (sigh), 2. to prepare for the christening on Son #3 next Sunday. I'll soon find out if I can still focus the Nokton 35 and Summilux 75 wide open...

I had the luxury of shooting with two M bodies this weekend!
I was asked to shoot some candids at a wedding reception Friday, so I thought it would be a perfect time to test the used M6 I am buying. So M6 and CV Nolton 50 1.5 and CV Ultron 35 1.7 with Fuji Neopan 1600 for wedding Friday, out on the town Saturday and Sunday nights. M4 with Summicron 50 and Fuji Neopan 100 during the days.
It is so nice to have two bodies within the same system so I can shoot different film types concurrently. I struggled with the fact that I could get a brand new Bessa for cheaper than this M6, and I really like Bessas, but I figure this may be the only time in my life I can splurge on the luxuries, and the M will likely outlast a Bessa in the long run, so I'm going for it!

Took the Leica IIIf and Jupiter 12 to my great-grandson's first birthday party. Got a few shots at 1/25 @f/2.8, but the light level was too low. Finished up with my Fuji F10 digicam. Found it hard to compete with a battery of camcorders and digital flashes. At least I can enjoy the digital images today.

Raid,

Thanks! I needed that.
Johne

BTW, thanks for all your effort in the comparison of various lenses. That was a monumental effort.

Johne: I enjoyed comparing my own lenses, and in the end I learned more about those lenses.

Took my little APS-film Canon ELPH Jr w/26mm f/2.8 to the county fair and 4-day rodeo. But I was so pooped by my volunteer usher job in the stands that I couldn't work up much energy for shooting what I'm sure were immense photo opportunities all around. I did manage a few shots of a barbeque vendor near the "frontier village".

Superb weather for a hike in the mountains. Took an Agfa Super Isolette with Arista EDU Ultra loaded. The other system was a Pentax K1000 converted semi-permanent to M42. Along for the ride came a Jupter-9, Mir-1, Mir-10A, and a Zeiss Jena Biotar.

All in all a very good day.

Ended the weekend with using my M3 a bit (read: 4-5 shots).

Was in NYC this long weekend and brought along the R-D1 with a Zeiss 35/2 and CV 15/4.5. The Xpan 2 was mated to its 45mm. Roamed the near empty city and found nothing terribly interesting to point the camera to.
