I've been extremely happy with the 35 1.2, 28 1.8 and previously owned the 50 1.5 ( sorry I sold it). I'm building a light weight kit for travel whe I don't want to feel like I'm on assignment and will buy a 35PII and 50 f2 coll. I'm actually debating whether to make it a 35 PII and 75 or 35, 50 and my old 90 elmarit v1. I've got more RF's than I know what to do with but got a really good deal on a mint in box olive R2 and will use it with this combo.

Leica M have been my main 35 system for 40 years and last year i picked up a ZI and 25, 35 and 50 f2 ZM lenses. The year before I picked up come CV lenses and now the R2. One thing I've learned is Leica isn't the only ball game and the CV and Zeiss lenses can top or equal Leicas glass even disregarding price. I'm also in love with the R2 and probably like the ZI over my new MP's.
 
I have the 35 PII and the 50/2 Heliar for my R2A. I realize I'm new to RFs and don't have much to compare against, but every time I look at shots from my 50/2 Heliar, I can't understand why it's not more popular.

I've only had my Bessa kit for about 5 months now, but I already want several more lenses. I don't feel like I've used the ones I have enough to justify adding more, but it won't be too long before I get something wider...21, 25 or 28,...I can't decide which. First, I have to get a Coolscan V ED. ...Dear Santa,

Started with the 28, the newest is the 50 collapsible.
As they came in, always the latest was the fav.
They are all great.

Do folks really agree that the entire CV line is "great"?
I own the 28/1.9 and the 15/4.5, and have been happy with both of them, particularly the 15. The 28 is a nice performer, but it's bigger than I would like, and the build quality isn't perfect.
I'd be interested in hearing more from people who have owned or sampled enough to be able say, which of the CV lenses really stand out performance wise vis a vis the rest of the line, and compared to the competition.
By the way, I was recently in the market for a 35mm, and looked at the CV offerings, but decided on the Zeiss Biogon 2.0, and am extremely pleased with that choice. I had a hankering to try something besides CV, and in fact, the Zeiss produces what strikes me as a somewhat different look.
Does anyone else think there can be said to be a family look in Voigtlander glass?
 
Have the 50/2, had the 35/2.5 & 90/3.5. Like all 3 but want to stick to 50 shooting for the time being.

In the future maybe I'll get the 75 and the m-mount 25.
 
Each maker lens maker has an objective (a target) they are looking to reach. ZI has one objective (resolution), Leica another (overall feel), CV yet another (price/performance).

I have and love the 15, 25, 40, 35/1.7 and a 35/2.5 SC on its way.

12mm, 21mm (x2- one in Nikon/Contax mount, one in M), 28 f/1.9, 40mm (MC), and 75mm.

I've had very mixed results with the lenses and have resolved to NEVER buy another without testing it on my M8.

12mm Is fine. 21mm is very nice wide open (or close- it doesn't sharpen up stopped down, and gets very dull after f/8) if I'm careful about flare. 28mm? Has an attractive look, but don't look to close- at no reliable use is it critically sharp, surprising me with awesome clarity and color, while on the same card showing me that I missed focus in situations that should have been perfect..
The 40mm has been a Real Pain, but is now focusing correctly (after taking the rear mount off and reassembling the thing). It does focus "past infinity," but is finally accurate on the rangefinder. It's finally becoming a lens I use- the back focusing issues had rendered (sorry: pun intended) it "poor" at best. It was my second copy from the distributor, and set my resolve to never buy a CV lens without taking minimal pictures on my own M8. Also, resolve is set to get a rational return policy with the lenses.
The 75mm front focuses pretty badly. It'll go off with the 40 and 28 eventually to DAG for re-adjustment, though the 40mm is now a low priority to send.
 
CV lenses I have: 21, 40 and 75. I find the first two usually get exciting results. The 75, with few exceptions, disappoints in color and b&w. I think this lens needs more time and assessing the light before shooting than I'm giving to it.
