Which domke size for my kit?

I know there was already written a lot about bags, but...
I am tired of carrying my cameras just thrown in my backpacks or shoulderbags among other things, need a dedicated bag, specially for longer walks.. I like the Domke bags - look good, seem well made, at affordable prices, but which one will fit the need?

Olympus OM kit - one body, two lenses
Rolleicord
Soligor spot meter
film and paraphernalia

Will some larger F5** fit the bill? Or would it be better to go with F6? Or some of the more messenger-style bags would be OK as well? (Or something completely different??)

i believe F5** or F6 would be both too small...unless you want really really tight-fit.

i bought a F3 last month but i have to buy an F2 waxwear yesterday

...i thought F2 would be too big for me at first (i use fixed-lens RF cameras mostly) so i bought the smaller F3.
after using it for a month i decided it is much too compact, can't even put an A4-size magazine into the bag.

so i would say F2 at the least.

For the gear you list, I would say a F6 would be more than big enough. I can fit a four lens Leica kit and a Rolleiflex in mine without too much trouble. I have a photo of it loaded on my blog:

Definitely too small for the F5xb. Probably perfect and maybe a little room to spare in the briefcase style stylish J803. I have a new J803 black which I think is somewhere in the classifieds. If not, I'll probably put it in this weekend.

WOuld it there be any way to stick with slimmer more messenger-style bag? I really don't like those wide bags - they are so much DSLR...

You could probably come pretty close to getting it all in an 803. When I had my TLR I used to carry the yashicamat, canon F-1N w/ 28mm mounted, 50mm (and sometimes 100mm) lens in the main compartment, and film, wallet, phone, keys etc in the smaller pockets.
The spot meter is the only question mark for me there. I have a fairly flat gossen F2 meter that fits in the front pockets, not sure about your soligor. OM and ONE lens, rolleicord and meter would probably fit just fine.

I think an F6 would work. The Rollei can go in the space next to the insert, and the OM, unless fitted with a large lens, I feel will fit in one of the insert cells. The extra lens and the meter should fit in the insert as well. The F2 is a possibility, but might be roomier than you need. An F6 is a great walkaround bag! Also consider using a two-compartment insert in the F6, rather than the standard four-compartment. That would give you a second roomy place you can drop the OM into more casually than you could fit it into the insert.

Agree with Brian, but I think you may need to forego the aftermarket 3 compartment insert, leaving you to decide if the canvas alone (or the included single insert) is protection enough for all your gear.

Love my 803 with insert - fits the M kit with lenses, meter, film, etc. etc., and lil' X10 digicam back-up perfectly. I find the insert a must but it slims the inside down considerably...

I have both the F3x and F2. I bought the F2 first but it's way too big, I use it for my medium format gear now. Most of the time I carry the F3x, it contains my Leica M8 with one lens mounted, another 2 M lenses and a Rolleiflex in the center compartments.

I put film in the side compartment, and sometimes a rocket blower or Bessa R2 or Minox in the other side compartment. It packs slightly more stuff than my Hadley Pro at the expense of padding, which I carry when I want yet another smaller bag.

FYI, I definitely do NOT use a 3 compartment insert w/ the 803. I find that I don't need much padding (if you swing your bag into a wall you might have issues, but if you're swinging your bag into walls you may have issues anyway... ;-)), and it would take up way too much space inside. The single insert it comes with is fine, put it in the middle, something on each side, and something inside the insert.

and the 803 has a little bigger back pocket than the f5xz/c bags, works even better for iPads and whatnot.

(and I DO have an F-6 also, can fit more camera gear in it, but not necessarily more 'stuff'. So many bags. So little time.)
