Hi All,

I'm looking at 4 different FED-2s on Evilbay. Being a newbie to the RF world, and even newer to FSU cams, I would like to seek your opinions as to which one represents the best deal. I'm concerned about the condition and the accuracy of the RF but the latter would be impossible to ascertain from reading the description. The first sale seems to be the most attractive to me... what do you guys think?

Sale #1
Sale #2
Sale #3
Sale #4

I'd buy from the sellers of #2 or #4 (being the same seller IIRC, namely Alex Photo) without much hesitation. He has a very good reputation.
#3 I've never heard of.
#1 I've heard of but have no experience with.

Alex has a website from where you can buy as well. You could send him an email to ask about the condition of the camera for sale. He's very accurate in his descriptions of condition.

Alex is the dude to deal with. That leaves #2 and #4. #4 is a FED 3 body with a FED 2 inside. It has the lever wind but the knob wind is just fine. It also has the shorter rangefinder base. Not the most desirable. It's a 2g according to Jim Blazik. The other is a 2f. It has the longer rangefinder base but both have no lugs. Given the two, I would go with #2. Longer rangefinder base and much prettier IMHO. If you want to wait a little, wait until Alex has a 2e. Whichever FED 2 you get, you will have a blast. Beautiful little beasties.

Looks like #2 is gone, wonder if it had anything to do with your recommendation Gordon :)

I'm guessing #1 and #3 fit the description of the -2E the closest.

I didn't realize my recommendations carried that much weight. I must think about charging for my reviews!

#1 and #3 are the 2e. I don't know either seller but #1 has a 99.5% postive feedback which is a good indication. The price is a little high but it does come with extras. #3 does look really clean. Really clean. Decisions, decsions. If there is a problem, Oleg can fix it. Both cameras do look nice and you can verify serial numbers to make sure the right one was sent. These are such sweet little cameras. Good luck!
