Which Fuji 645 cameras can be used as manual rangefinders?

I'm interested in picking up one of the Fuji 645 cameras, but I'm a little confused as to which ones use which type of focusing. I've seen most models described as being rangefinders, some as scale focus, and some as autofocus. Which are they? Can I manually focus the AF models using a rangefinder patch in the viewfinder?

No, the GA645 models are AF with only scale focusing as an alternative option - what's more, scale focusing in a rather clumsy way, by pressing a button and setting focus via the data entry thumbwheel. Personally I can only do it on a tripod, lacking the third thumb apparently common among Fuji designers.

The 65mm lens ones among the GS645 series are rangefinders.

can anyone help me? (I have a Fuji GS645Zi and I need the eye piece outter element (Round and screws in to hold the rest of the components) I love this camera but finding this piece has been very hard, maybe you know of someone who has a broken camera for parts that I can buy this item from. Thanks.

You'll probably do better to start your own thread with this question. [Lots of folks might not realize there's a separate question tucked away here.]

In the meantime, are any of the suggestions mentioned in this discussion

The first person I would contact to see if parts are available (perhaps even new) would be Frank Marshman at Camera Wiz. Just about a year ago he replaced my GA645Zi back lcd with new from Fuji. He can get parts, or may have the pieces you need in his parts inventory.

He has worked on 7 or 8 Fuji's for me, including new bellows and rebuilds of the early folder GS645. Good work, reasonably priced on the right side of the US continent.

search the internet for contact or PM me. He is somewhat unresponsive to e-mail but pleasant to talk with by telephone.
