which is more important : body or lens?

It's a comparison btwn _good_ and _better_, not good and bad so that throws a lot of comparisons out the window. It's hard to imagine being able to afford an MP and not get the Summicron to go with it.

I'd be happy right now with a R3a + Nokton, or for approx the same price, a user M2 + Summicron.

I guess the bottom line, for me, is a 'good-enough' body with a 'good-enough' lens attached. That can be a Jupiter 8 on my Zorki 3M or, more luxuriously, a CV 35/1.7 Ultron on my Bessa R or Leica M2. Once I have the 'good-enough' stuff, the rest is up to me.

Definitely Gene. My Leica IIIa + Summar, or Bessa R + J8 is good enough. I just got my Z3 from dreilly, and boy is it heavy. I don't remember my Z4 & Z4K being that heavy. Now I'll just have to see which body matches up the best with the Serenar 50/1.9 that I got from Frank. The Bessa feels rather lopsided with, the Z3 seems fairly well balanced so far.

Fed 3 + I61ld has gotta be the best bang for buck of all time

Except (IMO!) for the I61 L/D that is. My Zorki 4K and J8 were nearly the same price as any of my FED-2s and the Industars (I-26 or I-61 L/D) they came with.

I still have to try out the I-26 and I-61 L/D on my R-D1, though, so I could change my mind some day. 🙂
