Which Kiev mount FSU lenses have an internal mount?

Hello,

I am a newbie to RFF. I have tried to figure out the -3, -8, -12 coding for the various Kiev mount FSU lenses. Is there a sticky post or a previous post to which someone could direct me?

My question is this: of all the Kiev mount FSU lenses, which ones use an internal mount?

Would it be correct to assume that, of all the Kiev mount FSU lenses, only the 5cm-50mm and the 5.3cm-53mm lenses use an internal mount?

This is what I have come up with so far. Am I close?

Orion-15 = 2.8cm or 28mm F6.0 = EXTERNAL MOUNT
Jupiter-3 = 5cm or 50mm F1.5 = INTERNAL MOUNT
Jupiter-8 = 5cm or 50mm F2.0 = INTERNAL MOUNT
Helios-103 = 5.3cm or 53mm F1.8 = INTERNAL MOUNT
Jupiter-9 = 8.5cm or 85mm F2.0 = EXTERNAL MOUNT
Jupiter-11 = 13.5cm or 135mm F4.0 = EXTERNAL MOUNT
Jupiter-12 = 3.5cm or 35mm F2.8 = EXTERNAL MOUNT

Thanks,
Dave

The internal mount is for lenses without helical, which use the body integrated helical coupled to the rangefinder at 52.4mm, the true focal length of Zeiss Contax normals. Any other focal length would not focus correctly on that bayonet and is attached on the outer bayonet. Strictly speaking, these generally use both - the outer bayonet to fix the outer barrel and lens helical, the inner to couple the inner barrel to the rangefinder.

What sevo says. The internal bayonet is only for 50mm-nominal lenses because it provides the helical to achieve focus movement, the lens itself has no helical. Anything that isn't 50mm (53/52.4mm depending how picky you want to be) needs to provide its own helical and a coupler that simply turns the internal-bayonet helical so the rangefinder works.
