I am taking my M7 along with my M8 on a trip to switzerland and
canada end next month.

i am having a difficult time deciding on the lens combo to take, to be used
on either of them.

28/50/90 is one, but i love, really love the 35 fl. i have the 75.

Your experienced advice is greatly appreciated..max 3 lenses pls.

Thank you.

Ken, appreciate your advice. this is the most difficult part of travel!
more so when one is not so young!

Regards.

I'd say 28-35-75. On the M8 they're roughly equivalent to 35-50-90 and you'd have the 35mm FOV on both bodies. You'd be well covered.

Double Negative, thanks for looking in. finding room for one more lens
has been my undoing since I looked at the red dot.

Room yes..but the thought of carrying them so far..puts me off. the
35/50 or 28/50 comb is appealing. the cron 75 while results are excellent
is a bit heavy for a rf..methinks!

Season's greetings to all.

Personally, I like the 35mm focal length as well as 25mm. On the M8 I missed my "25mm" and picked up the 4/18 Distagon... But it's not as useful with film for me (partly because I hate external viewfinders). I'd definitely take a 25mm (since that's wide on film and a nice ~35mm on the M8), probably a 35mm (since it's a good focal length on both, including a ~50mm on the M8) and probably a 50. The 75/90 might be long, especially on the M8.

It's a tough decision, heh. C'mon, you can find room for one more lens. 😀

if i want to shoot both in film and digital and prefer 50 mm lens

i think 50 mm on film and 35 mm on digital body

so both camera take 50 mm lens on both body.

i love it 😀

but in real life, i choose to put an 28 mm lens on digital body and take only 28 mm & 35 mm lens use on one digital body.

When I take the M6 & M8:
35mm cron stays on M6 [for b/w]
24mm on M8
75mm cron and or 50mm lux in pocket or bag.
This for me just about covers anything I may run into.
p.s. with the 75mm on the M8 you will not miss the 90mm.

I have the classic 28/50/90... Since you will be in Switzerland with some incredible mountain scenery I would add a wide angle 18mm Distagon into the suitcase...

A fiberoptic undersea cable used for internet connections between europe,m.e, and asia was recently severed by a ship and internet has been
very slow and overloaded.

Please accept my thanks for all your kind responses.

regards.

I am in the same boat. We (myself and my wife) are planning on going to Hong Kong next week, and I am taking both my M8 and M7 and I am struggling over which lenses to carry.

By the way, I just bought a new Elmarit 28mm f2.8 Asph today from Samys which I really like. Nice images so far and love the size.

So I am thinking of taking 15, 25, 28, 35, and maybe 75? I don't think I will bother with Nocti due to weight and size, unless I substitute the nocti with 75.

I am not even sure if I should bother with the 15 but its small and light, so I might take that along.
