I'm interested to know which one of these photos would you prefer based on how the colors look.
I'm not going to mention any more info to cloud your judgment because I want your opinion only about the look of the picture.
Thanks in advance.

Other than the slight difference in the colors in the wings (the top one has slightly better wing color) I see no significant difference between the colors of the two photos.

would you say the first one is slightly 'warmer' compared to the second one?

ever so slightly....maybe

The first one definitely has less information in the shadows--look at the jeans of the guy with the striped polo and the grass to the left of the woman in the white shirt.
I like the second one.

No, but I would say that the top one has more contrast than the bottom one. I can see the difference in contrast in the building in the background and in the shadow in the foreground.

The first image does not show details in the shade. As Erik has said above, the pants for several people are without details in image 1. Did you add contrast to that image?

Individually, I would have difficulty in saying which I preferred, given the direct comparison here, I like the second better.

It might look better in black and white.

Hard to say, the second one is more correctly exposed, but the first one, by reducing detail in the shadows, puts more emphasis on the main subject.

I certainly go for the second photo. I had to look several times, but there is more detail of color in the mans jeans & less shadow in the building making for nicer view of the building.

The second photo shows more detail that can be seen in clock, the face of the winged lady looks brighter, and you can tell where the T-shirt ends and the shorts begin on the guy on the right just ahead of the guy in the striped shirt. Over all the second one just looks better.

The second one has a little more shadow detail in the grassy area bottom left, but they look almost the same.
edit....The man's jeans are actually blue in the second photo.

To narrow it down, in which of these photos the main subject (the lady with wings) stands out or looks more 'pleasing'?
This is great, i really appreciate the feedback.

It is a matter of balancing between contrast and details. Each photo has something at the expense of something.

i prefer photo number 1, but then i like primary colours too and am a fan of a bit more contrast than many others like.

This photo is related to my other thread about using film plug-in in photoshop.
The first picture is processed with Kodachrome 64 plugin with Exposure 2 and the second picture is straight from the camera with minor sharpening.
I like the first picture as well because the main subject with the slight contrast and saturation stands out and also the foreground is more brighter with a warm tone.

Sorry, but it doesn't look like Kodachrome at all. Not like the ones I have at least.

Maybe try -2/3 EV correction on your camera next time. The conversion adds contrast, and you don't want to do it on original with clipped highlights.
I'd also suggest getting a roll of K64 with mailer, shooting and processing it. With real thing at hand it might be easier to tune processing to similar look. Chromes are original captures, and when converting camera image you work with existing interpretation already (gamut, dynamic range) that varies between sensors - one ought to adjust it.
