Never have gotten all that excited by the MP. I'd much rather a nice 3lug M5, perhaps modded to have 28 framelines. In the end that's the only M with much interest for me. I'd rather have a nice clean Canon 7Sz & a 50/1.4 to go with it than any M.

not that i'm against the m7...'cause i have one....but what's with it being in the lead here?
I woulda thought the m5 or m4-p would be leading

A'la carte MP in either chrome or black paint with original rewind knob, clean top, .85 type 2 VF and my signature engraved on the back near the eyepeice.

I had an early M4, and had Leitz USA replace the viewfinder with one from an M2 (35, 50, and the 90 with corners).

That M4, with an internal meter, would be my choice. I loved that M4.

Now, I use an M7- - and I'm very happy with it. The M7, plus a Sekonic 308 makes for good 'chrome shooting.

I have an M2 (practically perfect), an M3 (user), and an M6 (very nice meter). With these I can do anything an M4, M5, or M7 can do, so I don't need or even want to own any other M camera. In fact, I would be happy with only the M2, but the M6 is nice to have for convenience and as a backup.

I had or/still have the M8, M3, M2x2, M4-P, M6 Classic(non ttl). I would love to get my hands on an original MP, but in chrome instead of black. I would consider myself 'almost' done with that one.

A black Leica MP would be a wild dream come true--

I'd settle for trying a M6 classic and M3 for a weekend - to try on board metering of the M6, and to see the famous M3 viewfinder.

My M4-P keeps me happy.

I'm in Tacoma, let me know when you'd like to try the M3 for a couple of days.

I have an M3 w/50 'cron. so I think an M2 with a 35 'cron. That would be nice!

I'm with you, Vic. So I voted for the M2.

Now, if someone wanted to give me an MP, I'd be very happy to have one- even if I might take the batteries out of it. I'd leave the batteries in an M7, a Hexar RF, or a Zeiss Ikon (AE is the only reason to have an in-camera meter, IMO) and while I'd love any one of these cameras, the M2 is the only one I can really see myself trying to acquire. But mostly, I feel done with my 2 M3's.

I chose the M6TTL because it would be my 2nd choice, first choice being a LHSA MP3. Just love that classic look. I like the M6TTl because I think the shutter speed knob would be easier to use because its bigger, I sometimes struggle with changing shutter speeds on my M6.

...an "affordable" m6 (ttl -?) hammertone finnish. 😀 😛 😀

i know, i know, it's an "exotic". but it would be "the one". i've handled one a couple of times and in my inexpert opinion it had the feel (the wind-on) of an mp...way smoother than my classic (mid '90's ?) m6. the tactile and visual appeal is almost indescribable. considering the going rate for these beauties i don't really see one in my future...dog-get (sort of like darn it)... i'll have to "suffer along" with what i have. 😀 😛 😀

breathe, relax, and enjoy!!

C'mon guys, I didn't omit the MP for nothing. With the MP included this wouldn't be a poll. In my introductory post I said everybody would want that one, but what I want to know is which one of the others you would want to have.
I've had most, including a black paint M3. That's owning M2-M3-M4P-M8-MP and using M1-M6-M6ttl-M7. Now I have 2x M2, one each M4-P, M8, MP. The M8 doesn't count but I'd swap both M2s and the M4-P for another MP, preferably à la carte with the rewind crank (it would be my wife's main camera).

Why would anyone want anything other than an MP? At which point, how much does the quiz mean?

Cheers,

R.

The only one I've owned was an M3 DS. I loved it, but it had to go (along with some other gear) when I needed cash and was no longer doing pro work.

I voted for the M4-2. But I haven't handled all of them, and the M4-2, M6, M2, etc., only casually. I would have voted for the M4-P for the 28mm frame, but I kinda don't like the red dot. Petty, I know, and some tape would take care of that. So I dunno, Victor uses an M4-2 and I like him, so there you go! 😀

I own no "M"s...a probubly won't till my parents leave me some money (I hope)....
But I chose the M6 TTL....I would get it with a VF that starts at 28mm....I guess I would need a 28mm lens too. To Start.....

But I don't have T H A T kind of money...😡 ...So I can dream can't I ?
