Which out of production film would you like to have again?

I really don't remember anything to make VP special. What was I missing. I also don't remember it being available in 35mm. Was it?

VP was standard-issue for me when using my Diana in the 60s. Have to see if the negs are around somewhere (there are prints, thankfully).

Near as I can recall, VP was never made in 35mm.

Kodachrome 64 and APX100.
Oh, wait a minute; they're both still available!

Back in the seventies listening to am radio I loved it when Paul Simon came on singing "mama don't take my Kodachrome away" ; and now they've gone and done it! Never figured Simon for a Prophet.

Uh, that's news to me if they have. I have three fresh rolls, all current date, and B&H still lists it in their big catalog.

Ya know, I almost get sick thinking about what will happen when Big Yellow really does pull the plug on Kodachrome, every talking head will be reading full-of-errors copy as the Simon tune drones on in the background. Cliche City! Gag me with a fork! :(
 
dmr: You beat me to it. K64 is still a current Kodak item. If you like it, buy some, folks. It'll stick around a little longer that way.

The original Fuji Reala. That's the one I'd like to see back..

The one on the purple carrier. Produced until about 1996. After that Fuji introduced 'New Reala' and it came on the orange carrier like every other colour negative film, and its rendering became like every other colour negative film..

The original stood out amongst the crowd because it was the only film that could reproduce the minutest details in purples (like flowers), all in the same go with the best skin tones. And that feel that the shot was always made during the golden hours of the day, even when you clicked the shutter at 12 o'clock in the afternoon..
 
Agfa Ultra 100! I recently bought a pack of it on eBay. There's still some old stock around. Crazy, crazy film.

This is my main color film- best color ever IMHO. Poppy, but not overboard- and good skin tones to boot. I have a freezer full of it, but when it's gone I may be done with color. Can't imagine shooting color without it. Perhaps I should hunt up another big batch of it.:bang:
 
this thread would be nice if it were set up as a poll. anyone know how to do that? i don't know enough to populate the list of obsolete films :-(

Yep, that was my fault. I didn't because if I understand correctly to do that one has to propose a list from which you can chose but I would not know which films to put in such a list. Or...am I wrong on this?
