My OM-2n with the Zuiko 1.4 and the 2-series screen will "knock your eye out" on a sunny day. (Really - almost painfull.) My OM-1n with the Beatty grid screen is almost as bright. Both bodies were CLA'd and calibrated by John Hermanson @ Camtech. (Highly recommended.)

i have to wear sunglasses to use my minolta outdoors. would be nice to have a ND filter for the finder.

I would bet either F5 or F6. I have a F3hp and used to have a F90x and the F3hp wouldn't hold a candle next to F90's viewfinder so I assume that the newer Nikon's are much better.
