Ach! I just found a Super Ricohflex at a shop nearby for $32 and I'm having GAS pains...
even though it isn't quite what I want. What I really want is an Autocord. I'm just very fond of that hard to describe three dimensional-ness Minolta seems to have in *****s. Even my Rokkor MC 58/1.4 tends to have that look to some degree.
This little camera looks nice and clean, but has very stiff focus and comes with no case or accessories whatsoever. I'm not sure about the shutter or aperture blades since it was a cramped dimly lit place with customers waiting for me to get out of their way. lol
I have two questions...
Are these simpler, less complex TLR's very difficult to CLA? It seems like they'd be relatively easy, except perhaps the shutter timing adjustment.
And are the Rikon triplet lenses worth bothering with compared to the later Rikonon Tessar type?
Can someone just please tell me that a Super Rikohflex is really just a toy hunk-o-junk and that I should wait until a magical Minolta or perhaps a regal Rollei comes rolling in?

As requested - Jack, a Super Rikohflex is really just a toy hunk-o-junk and you should wait until a magical Minolta or perhaps a regal Rollei comes rolling in. LOL
Kidding aside, Mark Hansen suggests on his repair site that the Diacords are harder to work on. This might in turn suggest that Ricohflexes are also harder to CLA, although I have no idea if they are similar in design. It doesn't seem completely unreasonable to think that they might be.
Not to torture you further but KEH has a pretty good deal for an EX condition Diacord right now. It's pricier than the Super Ricohflex you were looking at, but it has a warranty and the nice dual lever focusing system. It seems like a lot of folks consider the Diacord and Autocord to be on the same level.

The geared lens Ricohflex is a little charmer. A great lens on it too

dfatty, you don't happen to have the link to that Diacord on KEH, do you?
I wasn't able to find it. I found a bunch of Yashicamats, one Autocord and many Rolleiflex/cord variations, but no Diacord.

I doubt it will last long, but here it is:

Yup, that's it, thanks Brian. Always tough to find things at KEH unless you know the "magic" word to use.
