Manual says the battery "clicks" in place. Mine doesn't, just presses against a spring and shutting the door keeps it in place. It did not power up, I assume it;s because the battery is depleted. But....Does your battery click into place? thanks...Peter

Ok- Charged a bit and took a few shots. RF alignment seems right on! Very impressed with IQ on a few grab shots. now...
is that tiny, tiny analogue display for Iso the only place you can check, it's not displayed on the LCD?
Sorry so basic- is their an option for color space other than sRGB?
My curtain advance lever doesn't return to start by itself, I have to push it back slightly....normal?
Finally- I'm about to upgrade firmware. I don't see a manual describing it with things like how to do the dead pixel mapping, is there one to download?

Thanks!!

Congratulations on your RD-1.
When I insert the battery I also close the door to retain it,I asume this is normal from other posts I have read. The wind on lever has a stand off position and when I wind on mine returns back to this stand off position. As mentioned Adobe RGB is supported by the firmwire upgrade and I think you will find dead pixel mapping etc intuitive to use I havent seen any instructions for using the firmwire but that doesnt say they dont exist!
Have Fun with your new camera.
Regards
Steve

thanks Steve. I'm just being impatient I suppose, waiting for my battery to fully charge before upgrading the firmware. Once I do I suspect it'll all be pretty obvious.

Not sure what you mean by stand off position, I assume like mine it doesn't return all the way, and this is functional in some way I'll be finding out about soon enough. Best...Peter

Hi Peter,
The wind on lever has a 45 degree stand off from the body. This means that the lever remains in the correct position to wind on to the next shot (just above your thumb). You will be able to understand when the battery charges and you give it a try.
Regards
Steve

thanks Plasmat- Interesting, it's the same PDF instructions for the download I got from Epson, but there's a cover page describing the added features that looks internal, with initials. Anyway, thanks again....Peter
