Who are the R-D1 owners?

Hamsong,

Having used the beast since February, I guess I've just learned to live with it to the point I don't even think about it any longer. The only combo I find takes some practice is my 90mm Elmarit with the Leica 135mm finder. You can twist the rear element of the finder to adjust the framing up and down to correct for focus plane distance and I find that it's always better when the finder is focused shorter than the lens.

The manual advance is certainly a hassle after expecting the shutter press to do the job for you, isn't it. Again, I live with it and console myself that it makes the camera appear as anything but digital! I'll tell you my pet peeve... having to press the damn shutter release twice after chimping.

I finally caved in and bought an R-D1. It goes into heavy rotation tomorrow with two M7s and a Bessa R3a at a wedding. I'll be taping over any references to Epson, etc, and so the camera nerd that seeks out the photographer will be baffled by what I'm using...
