Who does the best job with your E-6, or is there no difference? Consider turn around time in your decison. If someone else, please state who.

I was looking for something in the film forum and saw this poll/thread.
Fuji was very fast for all my Velvia/Astia slides I took two years ago while in GNP--I bought mailers when I bought the film.

I use a local pro lab that offers runs E-6 twice a day on every day except Sunday. Great quality and decent price. Local labs should be supported as much as possible.

I use Dwayne's, as I don't have any local E6 labs anymore. I usually wait until I have several rolls of K14 ready to ship, as it saves on the return shipping costs. The results have been fine. And the turnaround time is faster with Dwayne's than my local. I can mail on a Monday and have them back Friday or Saturday.

You can use this place... same day e-6 (for dropoff–I don't know how quick it is by mail)... pro lab, great service, price is decent. They do b&w by hand, too.

Of course, the price is something else. $10.50/roll of 120 (with ten 6x7 shots each) plus tax. Unmounted, strips of three... Whoa. Good thing I didn't get them mounted, contact or normal prints.
Pardon my surprise (and possible lack of sympathy)... but you left your film and had no idea how long it might take and how much it would cost?
Here's the deal at the lab I use (I lied earlier when I said they ran E-6 six days per week; it is only five days per week):
MONDAY - FRIDAY
IN BY 10am OUT BY 1pm
IN BY 2pm OUT BY 5pm

Whatever. I'm done with both of them.
Sounds to me like a logical conclusion!

I miss the days when 5 bucks and two hours would get me perfect slides (mounted or not) every time at Color Edge in NYC. Now that I live in Louisville, it's much harder; to my knowledge there isn't a lab in the whole state of Kentucky that does E6 at all (!), never mind good quality processing. I have to send it out; much more expensive and much longer waits. No wonder I haven't shot chromes in a couple of years. Sigh.

Maybe cross the river to Cincinnati. There used to be a store downtown called Providence Camera I think. Some of the nicest folks ever. The had one of the earlier Kodak kiosks you could bring in negs and it would print any size you needed. The good ol' days.

I used to have two pro labs within a dozen blocks of me that did Two Hour E-6 processing. Scanning, much higher quality color negative films than we used to have, and digital capture did in the E-6 labs. Nobody projects slides these days. Dale Labs, a pro lab just off I-95 a couple of miles into Broward County, still does E-6 as well as C-41.
Dale is also a Leica dealer so you can check out all the latest goodies while you're there. Ask for a schedule of upcoming seminars.

I chose other, locally in Philly when I shot E6 often I would take it to Philly Photographics. They always did a great job. Turn around time, if you got there when they opened would be later that day.

Walmart takes a week to return my 120 and charges me a couple of bucks. The low cost allows me to shoot more. On important shoot I'll take to pro lab myself.

I voted for “other” because I buy Kodak E-6 chemistry and process my own 35mm and 120 slides.
