Who has a Leica M6 TTL Millenium

Well I guess I know who bought this now, I was about to purchase this camera as well but you beat me to it :bang: Oh well enjoy the new camera :)

Hey... I guess my itch to drive down to Woodbridge yesterday was a good idea!!! It is beautiful.

Hi guys,

I have just received my M6 Millenium (#1016) and I love it. I was looking for a mechanical camera to replace my M7, had briefly considered a MP but decided I really needed the modern shutter dial, with the rotation direction consistent with my M9.
The black paint looks beautiful. I intend to use #1016 as my everyday film camera on the long run, and watch it brass over the years. It will get a black dot too.

Best,
Thomas

Another - used - one is offered here, nr. 657 (btw I have no relation to the seller):

Curious end bid result on that camera. 4 bids placed up until last few seconds/second 5th bidder wins auction with the same bid/end price as 4th bidder. How can that be? Earlier placed bids take preference so 5th bidder would have needed to go higher to win I would have thought but that didn't happen.

Edit: woops my mistake bid was €1776 up against €1766 so €10 more. Need to take a trip to the opticians me thinks! :D Thanks Ronn! ;)

Some years back I found a 'spare part' Millennium topcover and converted my M7 to a BP MP-7 one-of-a-kind. All of the BP parts were ordered through Leica.

I sold the camera to a collector a few years ago to finance another purchase - I believe it was an M8.

It can be done!! My ultimate camera.

Well, I won't be joining the "Millenium Club"

BUT, I will be a member of the LHSA Black Paint Group :D - just traded some vintage gear for one that's mint-boxed/ dealer deadstock camera/ all cards/ manual/ boxes and strap ~ LHSA 0.85 TTL M6 BP -
(from November 1st 2000) - one of only 440 ever made!

I'm really stoked about it, considering I've always wanted to wear out some paint on something newer than a 1945 Leica IIIC K.......

I'll post pics in another thread ;)

Anyone else get/find a Millenium lately?

Tom

Oooh, nice. Those LHSA models are gorgeous too. Congrats!

So that explains all the FS posts today. ;)

Thank You DN! :D

Well, the FS stuff today was part of it, yes......I'm now debating on lenses, while I really shoot MORE vintage looking photos, most modern day Black Leica lenses render MORE modern looking pictures. ;)

I know for sure a WW2 era CZJ Sonnar T f1.5/ 50mm will be on that rig, from time to time, plus all my FAST 1960's Canon LTM lenses.......But, I think possibly that a minty WW2 era Leitz Xenon f1.5/ 50mm will turn up now being the quickest Leica born glass on my new rig, I have the chance now to buy a "coated" one, so I think I will, with that it will be the fastest Leica lens I currently own, untill I can make some $$$$$ shooting and finally invest in that early 1990's Pre-Asph Lux 50 I have always been dreaming about!!!!!!! :p LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

The M6 Millennium is one sweet camera...

(Not mine!)

True, true; the modern lenses tend to produce contrastier, sharper - more modern images... Sounds like you've got a nice collection of vintage glass though!

Failing that, pick up a nice special edition BP pre-ASPH Summilux... That'd be a sweet match.

Yeah, I wish I could afford to buy that one......they are like nearing like $4k mark now I think? - more money than the camera's worth at the moment - crazy!!!!!!! -
Maybe? by the time I have the camera worn down to EX PLUS I can find an affordable "user" BP Lux LOL!!!!!!!! ;)

LOL!. Unfortunately, yeah - about that. Summiluxes and Noctiluxes are off the charts right now, Summicrons not much better. Heck, they're all overpriced at the moment! I'd love one myself... But that ain't happening. :bang:
Yeah, I just bought a "pampered" used Voightlander Nokton f1.5/ 50mm Asph this afternoon to go on the LHSA, - A "poor-man's" Summilux, it seems to have a good reputation for shooting and that black on black lens/body scheme will look good on my camera I think?

Ohh BTW, could anyone tell me what the correct code is for the Leica Full Nose Eveready Case that's era correct for the 2000 Millenium/ LHSA camera's? - 14505?

I need one of those here soon, before I go to the car shows.........

Can anyone tell me what the correct Leica code # number is for the full nose eveready Leica case for the BP TTL M6?

I am to believe the TTL has a higher top plate/deck lid than the M6 Classic did? - Or please correct me if I am wrong :)

The LHSA BP 0.85 TTL is the FIRST TTL M6 I have ever owned and I think it will be a similar feeling to what working with the M8 is?
(I guess the shutter speed knob turns the same way etc. etc.) - and I know it's also bigger than the knob on the classic, which I do like that about the M8 :)

Thanks!

Tom

I believe that's mine or was mine. Just sold it. Using a MP Hammertone now.

Oh, how funny. I forgot where I originally saw the picture, but I saved it because it was so nice.

The MP Hammertone is a beautiful camera, too. I would have liked to buy one, but it wasn't within the budget at the time (still isn't :D ).
