Who has a Leica M6 TTL Millenium

Well, here's my LHSA 0.85 TTL BP Leica M6 with a BP Voightlander Nokton f1.5/50 - they look like they were made for each other.....and I can't afford a $4,000+ BP Summilux so this is the working combo for now ;)

I'm thinking about replacing the film advance with a BP M3/MP styled one and also a BP shutter button dish (and button, if they sell one at Leica?) and also the "Black Out" film counter as well.......but first I have to find a ER case for the camera, does anyone know where I can find a decent "used" Leica #14870 case in the USA?

Enjoy!

Tom

I'm happy to resuscitate the thread :) The Millennium has got to be one of the most beautiful Ms.

I have recently bought no. 1381. Will post pictures as soon as I get it.

Btw, how durable is the paint? More or less than older BP bodies?

No. 1063 is on sale at Meister Camera in Hamburg.

Map Camera in Tokyo has four or five for sale, too, but I can't make out the serial numbers.

Cheers
Philip

DAG is almost finished converting my M7 to an M7P of sorts, with 35,50 and 90 frames. M6TTL millenium top plate and BP parts, .85x VF. Should be a keeper. :)

I've now got my hands on no. 1381 :) What an unbelievably beautiful camera. Paid almost, but not quite, the same as in that eBay ad actually.

One thing I'd really like your assistance with:

When you hold your Millennium and the right thumb presses against the top-right corner of the rear lid, does it "give" a little?

I have this on my M3 a very tiny bit too, but it is more obvious on the Millennium plus there's a sound as the lid moves slightly due to the pressure of the thumb.

I'm obviously wondering if I should send it back to the dealer - or perhaps to Leica - but thought that I wouldn't bother in case it is normal for the M6s.

Could this be a result of the camera having been used - repeated pressure on the back plate near the hinge could perhaps cause it?

Thanks very much in advance for your input.
Philip

Do you mean the rear door? Yes mine gives just a little bit as you say. The top plate is secure, no give in that.

Hi Rover

thanks very much for the reply. Yes I mean the rear door, actually the top-right corner of it where the hinge is. When I press on that point, there's a sort of clicking sound as if the door brushes against the edges of the body (not sure if that makes sense, I'm pretty poor at describing).

Of course, the film pressure plate inside seems to be designed to be flexible so that may explain the movement. But I'm curious about the sound.

Prices are quite steady there are 2000 and you pay about 2000 nothing to worry about, prices a firm last five years,

I will take your numbers in the chart
Sorry I didn't get responses via email on this thread anymore so I'am a little late:

THEREFORE PERHAPS WE CAN HAVE THIS AS A STICKY, SO IT IS EASIER TO MAINTAIN THE CHART AT THE TOP

I have 567. Your list has it as belonging to a Leica Forum member. It was, until I bought it a few weeks ago. Even though I am also a member of that forum, I am much more active here on RFF.
