How much better than an M6? Steve Huff is gaga over his. I borrowed one for 3 weeks last year but it was red and silver which I thought was ugly (wife loved it).

Its a much smoother M6. Brass top/btm; all metal gears; brightest viewfinder. I had one for 3 years. I sold it to finance an M7. The M7 is totally trick with the AE. But you own an M7 dont ye?

it's really awesome before you buy one and for a little while after you buy one. after all, it's just a camera.

Thanks! This is the 2nd best line I have ever learned from RFF.
1st best being a quote from Roger Hicks quoting a fashion designer: "If someone says the dress worn on the model is beautiful, I fail. If someone says the model is beautiful in my dress, I succeed" or something like that.

Wait! That doesn't sound that perfect. It seems to apply to anything.
girlfriend, wife, car, boat, Mac.....

It's okay. I don't think it's better made than m2,3,4. I might be biased.
I like mine but I don't love it.

I was thinking of getting one simply for the meter. I hate the meter on my M6. I seem to think the MP meter is better in less light.
I don't care about the paint finish, engraving or "feel" of the winder etc.

My M5s need red dots!
The improved meter is already in the less expensive M6TTL.
Sometimes I'd like an MP, but the shutterspeed dial size is too different from the one in my M6TTL bodies (to which I'm already very used).
However, they're very smooth machines...

Holy grail of M's. Nothing else needs to be said. Gorgeous in both Silver or Black.

Yes the fiddly small dial made me take too long taking photos and sell my MP for an M7.

Love my MP too and can't ever see my selling it. While I know it does the same things as an M6, the MP just seems to be a bit more refined than it's earlier cousin. Plus I love the classic "Leica" engraving done on real brass.

I have the black paint MP and it's starting to brass here and there, pretty classy looking. It takes good pictures too
