Who has a Leica MP? Is it really awesome?

Interesting point regarding the difference between the M6 and MP ISO dials. It's something I'd never paid close attention to previously. After comparing them just now, its hard to tell if there's any difference in the quality of the plastic, but I certainly agree that the M6 ISO dial is a better design.

I have a question...

On the M6 or MP, what are the two tick mark values in between say 100 and 200? The reason I ask is if I shoot at 100, fine, but if I want to shoot at 150 and 180, is it even reasonable or close to set these values? Are either dials sensitive enough? I love my M6. I lust for an MP BP!

Jeez, measurebation is boring.:p

Where is the discussion on using the camera you LOVE and why you love it? There is no perfect anything in this life the last time I did a reality check. LOL...

Really, I have not even thought about the ISO dial! Maybe Leica or someone else can fabricate a metal dial.???

Not that I would care at all but some may.

If a camera is called "Mechanical Perfection" and costs $5k, I don't want to see a plastic part on it. It's all in the details, my friend, but that's just me.

You can set the ISO in 1/3 stop increments, Dave.

i.e. 100 > 125 > 160 > 200 > 250 > 320 > 400 etc.

I understand! :)

But I also have no problem with marketing fluff as it is common. The ISO dial is acceptable to me. The "mechanical perfection" tag is also acceptable. But that is just me too.

I see no conflict in the OP's question (is the MP awesome?). To me it IS awesome. Is it perfect? Certainly not. What is?

Just my humble two cents worth, don't mind me!:p I just use cameras I love!
