Who has it! 28 Summaron-M

Yes, I bought one a couple of weeks ago. I tried it out a couple of times late last year and was very impressed by the combination of sharpness, contrast (not too high but more than sufficient) and the way that the lens handles strong light sources. I also found little of the vignetting that seems characteristic of this lens when used on a digital camera.

A few examples (all film).

Nice shots Ian. I digression, but I notice all your colour images have a cyan tone. I get that with mine too, no matter who I send it to to get dev/scanned, and no matter what film I use.
I always have to adjust for it in post.

Love Ian's shots. The push to try it myself.

First brief walk. Looks like the lens hood won't be needed much from my experiments eariier in the day. Got it second hand unused. Very neat little thing. I love compact lenses for walking.

For sure an interesting lens, with some limitations ( f=5.6 dept of field) but also with some special light rendering as we can see from the photo here.

I had one in my hands in a Leica Store, done a couple of shots on the M10 and have to say it is a special object, beautifully done. And it is small...very small...
Not sure if I'll go for it but I think both my M7 and her younger sister 10 would like to have it 🙂

I played with one for an afternoon last month, attached to a Monochrom.

Really small, but good handling. I kept the hood on, which made it bigger. Mostly I kept it on because Leica lent it to me with no filter and I was terrified of scratching it 😀

DOF scale is front-facing on the collar of the lens, which was my only real beef. You have to look at the front of the camera to set it.
